There are several other online article directories in which you could post your blog, but those should get you started. Your article will then get picked up by the major search engines depending on the keywords you choose to use. This is just one of the popular ways to make money blogging.

There are other ways to make money through blogs as well, but these are the most used. This is perhaps because they are the easiest ways to do so. Once you sign up with an affiliate program the product owner will provide you with custom tracking links along with some other cool creatives like graphical advertisements which you can place on your website. When people come to your website, click those ads and buy the product on the other side, you'll make a commission! The commissions can be quite high in some cases depending on the price of the product. Some product owners pay up to 75% of the product price. That's huge!

I'm currently promoting products that pay out $200 commissions per referred sale. That's fat cheques! You can do this...trust me. There are newcomers that are currently making good money online by simply STARTING.

Your website obviously has to be good. It has to provide value to people and shouldn't look bad. It's easy to create a website as well as host it. There are several tutorials on this online, but check my resource box at the bottom for more information on starting a successful website.

The only problem is that there aren't many people who know how to set up a successful affiliate website. I have spent HOURS trying to find resources that show you how to do this successfully, but couldn't find them.

Step 3 Get Traffic

After you get your site set up, products chosen, and Affiliate accounts set up, its time to get your site seen. This can be done with a Google Adsense campaign or any other Pay Per Click programs out there. The problem with these is they can cost you a great deal of money and provide you with untargeted traffic.

Personally I prefer targeted traffic as the conversion rates are much better. A great read for getting targeted traffic can be found Here. I also recommend staying away from traffic exchanges as they provide untargeted traffic and a poor conversion rate.

Conclusion

This article is by no means an end all, be all tutorial on making money online. However, it is a pretty good launch pad to learn to make money online. After you visit a couple of the sites listed above you will get the idea. This isn't rocket science and was never meant to be. At the end of the day you are just trying to sell people stuff. Keep it simple, start small, and put the time in. Some people achieve success overnight, whereas others can spend years before they make their first $1,000. Either way, the key is to be patient, educate yourself on the industry and how things work, then put in the time.
